Classic Margaritas

The Quintessential Cinco de Mayo Cocktail

  • Yield: 4 to 6


  • 2 1/2 cups fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 cup fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • 6 tablespoons superfine sugar
  • 8 ounces Cointreau or Grand Marnier
  • 10 ounces Patron silver tequila
  • Crushed ice
  • Margarita salt (optional)


  • Combine lime juice, orange juice, sugar, Cointreau, and tequila in a blender with ice cubes. Blend until completely combined and ice is crushed. Pour margaritas into salt-rimmed glasses and serve immediately.
