Chipotle Tartar Sauce


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons chopped garlic
  • 2 chipotle peppers, seeded and diced small
  • 1 cup homemade or prepared mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt and pepper


  • In a small skillet heat oil over low heat with garlic and chipotle peppers until flavors and aromas are released, about 4 minutes, stirring and tossing often. Transfer to a small bowl and let cool. Stir in mayonnaise, green onions and lemon juice; season to taste with salt and pepper.
