Perfect Rice


  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • One-half teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter


  • Put 2 cups of water in a medium-size saucepan. Add the rice, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil, cover, and then reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook until the water is absorbed, about 15 minutes. Remove from the heat. Presto---perfect rice.
