Stir Fried Sesame Vegetables

  • Yield: About 2 cups


  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup diagonally sliced celery
  • 2 cups chopped bok choy, stems and leaves
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 turns freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup red bell pepper strips
  • 1/2 cup fresh bean or sunflower sprouts
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce


  • Heat 1 tablespoon of the sesame oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add the broccoli and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add the celery and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add the bok choy, onions, salt, and pepper and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add the bell peppers and bean sprouts and stir-fry for 1 minute. Stir in the water, soy sauce, and the remaining 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and remove from the heat. Serve immediately.
