  • 4 large apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup sweet Passover wine or cream sherry


  • Toss the apples with the lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Add the nuts, sugar, honey, cinnamon, wine and toss gently, mixing well. (This recipe can be made a day ahead and kept covered in the refrigerator.)
