Chinese Style Peanut Butter

  • Yield: About 1/2 cup


  • 3 cups peanut oil
  • 1 cup raw shelled peanuts
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper


  • Heat the oil in a heavy skillet. When the oil is hot, add the peanuts and fry for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring constantly. Drain. In a food processor, fitted with a metal blade, puree the peanuts and 2 tablespoons of the oil until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. Remove and cool.
