Old Fashioned

  • Yield: 2 servings


  • 2 lumps sugar
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 jiggers (3 ounces) bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 2 twists lemon peel
  • 2 orange slices, garnish
  • 4 maraschino cherries, garnish


  • Divide the sugar, bitters, and water among 2 old-fashioned (toddy) glasses, and stir to dissolve the sugar. Add the whiskey and stir. Squeeze 1 lemon peel into each glass and add about 1/4 cup of ice cubes. Garnish with orange slices and cherries.
