Floridita's Mojito Cocktail

  • Yield: 1 drink


  • 7 to 8 fresh mint leaves
  • Crushed ice
  • One and one-fourth ounce of rum
  • Juice of half a lime
  • 1 ounce sugar cane syrup
  • Club soda


  • Muddle five to six mint leaves in the bottom of a cocktail glass. Fill a hand shaker half full with crushed ice. Add the rum, lime and sugar cane syrup. Shake well. Pour the shaken mixture in the cocktail glass with the crushed mint leaves and top off with soda. Garnish with more fresh mint and toss in a lime wedge.
