Puff Pastry Dogs
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 6 hot dogs, your preferred brand
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- Ketchup, Creole mustard, Brown German mustard for serving
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400º F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Defrost the puff pastry according to package directions. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the dough to 1/8-inch thick. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut 12 squares of puff pastry.
Place a half of a hot dog in each square diagonally and fold the puff pastry from the both sides. Gently pinch the pastry together so that it sticks.
In a small bowl, whisk the egg with half a tablespoon of water and brush it over the pastry.
Sprinkle the top of the pastry with sesame seeds and poppy seeds.
Bake at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown color. Serve the Puff Pastry Dogs warm with ketchup and mustard.
