Fresh Apple Puree
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Steenís 100 percent Pure Cane Syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 1/2 pounds cooking apples, such as Granny Smith, cored, quartered and chopped
- Pinch salt
Directions
In a large saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the sugars, cane syrup and spices, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Add the apples and salt. Mix well. Cook for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and cool completely. In a food processor or blender, puree the mixture until slightly smooth.
