When Pigs Fly
This deliciously spirited cocktail features Buffalo Trace Bourbon and a burnt honey spiced syrup that has all the flavors of fall. You can find it -- and many more amazing cocktails -- at one of our favorite events of the year: Boudin, Bourbon & Beer [2] this Friday in New Orleans, benefitting the Emeril Lagasse Foundation [3].
Ingredients
- ¾ oz. Buffalo Trace Bourbon
- ½ oz. Amaro Nonino
- ½ oz. Aperol
- ¾ oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- ½ oz. Burnt Honey Spiced Syrup [5]
Garnish:
- 1 Sprig of Flamed Rosemary
- 1 large strip of orange peel
Directions
Combine all ingredients except the rosemary in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds and double strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Using a butane torch, flame a sprig of rosemary until a slight char appears.. Place the smoking rosemary sprig on top of the cocktail along with the strip of orange peel.
