Brownies in a Jar

Layer all of the dry ingredients in a jar that holds at least 5 cups. Gently tap the jar on the counter after each addition.

To make the brownies (include these instructions if giving the jar as a gift):

Preheat the oven to 350º F.

Grease a 9 by 13-inch brownie pan with a little butter.

In a large bowl combine1 cup melted butter with the eggs and water and mix well. Stir in the contents of the jar and mix thoroughly. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely before cutting.
