Healthy Ranch Dipping Sauce
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Greek style low-fat or nonfat yogurt (or low-fat sour cream)
- 2 tablespoons low-fat buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves
- 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice, plus 1/4 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon plus a pinch of table salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 garlic clove, minced
Directions
- Combine yogurt, buttermilk, mayonnaise, chives, parsley, lemon juice and zest, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and cayenne in a bowl. Using the side of a knife blade, mash garlic and a pinch of salt against a cutting board repeatedly to form a mostly smooth garlic paste. Add garlic paste to bowl with remaining ingredients and stir well to blend. (Flavors will intensify as the sauce sits.) Sauce may be made up to 2 days in advance.
