Herb And Sausage Orzo
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
- 1 cup orzo pasta (1/2 pound)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Black pepper
- 1/4 cup assorted chopped fresh herbs (such as basil, parsley, and thyme)
- 3 1/2 cups chicken stock
- 1/4 cup chopped smoked sausage
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened
Directions
- Heat oil in a saucepan and add onions, garlic, orzo, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes. Stir in herbs and stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes. Remove pan from heat and stir in sausage and butter.
