- 4 cups freshly brewed chickory coffee or strong brewed coffee
- 2 cups half and half
- Sugar to taste
Add the half and half to a 2-quart pot and carefully heat over meduim heat. Once the half and half begins to bubble and rise to the top, turn off the heat. Slowly pour the coffee into the pot, stirring to combine. Heat over medium heat until heated through. Transfer the cafe au lait to a warmed coffee pot and serve immediately with sugar to taste.
