James Beard Foundation to “Kick It Up a Notch” at Annual Chefs & Champagne® New York Fundraiser and Tasting Gala Honoring Emeril Lagasse

New York, NY – This summer the James Beard Foundation will honor chef, TV personality and multiple JBF Award-winner Emeril Lagasse at Chefs & Champagne® New York at the Wölffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, N.Y.  This annual sumptuous tasting party and fundraiser features flowing Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte, the wines of Wölffer Estate Vineyard, Stella Artois beers, and culinary offerings from a select group of over 40 fine chefs, several from JBF Award-winning restaurants.

In each 30-minute episode of The Originals with Emeril, premiering May 5th at 10:30pm ET (7:30pm PT), Emeril visits a new city and goes behind-the-scenes at three historic eateries – speaking with the chefs and customers to help reveal their fascinating stories. The new restaurant at Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, Burgers And More by Emeril, is an early holiday gift.

The eatery, which promises ”the ultimate burger experience,” delivered one of the best burgers I’ve eaten.

Burgers And More is the first-ever hamburger restaurant from celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. He already operates the upscale Emeril’s Chop House at the Bethlehem casino.

Bright and unfussy contemporary style signals the new restaurant’s approachable spirit when it comes to cost as well as fare.

Tables in a variety of colors keep the ambience casual. But the open kitchen — with its parade of fat burgers in the pick-up queue — is clearly the focus.

Of course hamburgers get their due here, but the fare includes burgers a long way from beef.
