Tomato-scented Soap?

Post Author: Marcel Bienvenue

A friend who is more into aromatherapy than I guided me to a website that features liquid hand soap, three milled soap, room spray and candles that are scented with TOMATO! Since I’m such a tomato freak, I just might try the room spray. I don’t know if I want to come out the shower smelling like one, tho. There are also products scented with asparagus, parsley and lime. Am thinking that if I mixed them all up, my house and my body could smell like a freshly made salad! Wow! Check it out: http://www.elizabethw.com/shp/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=40&cat=Vetiver

Also, I noticed products containing vetiver…

I have a huge vetiver plant given to me my an elderly lady who had it growing wild on her property near a bayou. It’s a tall, dense grass with long narrow leaves. I remember my grandfather telling me that he had homemade vetiver soap when he was young and the ladies thought he smelled real good!

Doing some research, I found that it is known for its calming, soothing, and protective characteristics. It can also be used for its antispetic, sedative, stimulant and tonic properties. Its essential oil is extracted from the roots and is sometimes blended with geranium, jasmine, lavender and rosewood. The grassy leaves are used to make shade awnings and fans in India and Sri Lanka, and they can also be used to make baskets and rugs.
