Olympians Eat Big
Post Author: Marcel BienvenueIt takes a lot to keep olympian contestants going! The New York Times reports that Shane Hamman, America’s No. 1 weight lifter, consumes protein-heavy 5000 calories a day!
For instance, his breakfast consists of a bowl of Lucky Charms with milk (surely it’s whole milk), 4 strips of bacon, 1 cup hash browns, and 20 ounces of water. Mid-morning snack (after a workout) is two 32-ounce Olympic Citrus Blend Powerades and more water.
Lunch is a turkey, ham and Cheddar cheese sandwich on whole-wheat dressed with mayonnaise, a small bag of Bugles, 1 cup potato salad, a brownie with soft-serve ice cream and hot-fudge sauce, a Olympic Citrus Blend Powerade.
Following his afternoon workout, it’s back to the Olympic Citrus Blend Powerades and more water.
Dinner is a pound of ground beef made into two Cheddar burgers on sesame seed buns, pickles and six homeamde Toll House cookies (that he bakes himself with three kinds of chocolate chips.)
I’m seriously thinking of taking up weight-lifting!
